Global Alert Administrators
Global Alert travel insurance policies provide coverage for terrorist attacks deemed an act of terrorism by the U.S. Government. The terrorist attack must occur within 30 days of your departure, within a 1-mile radius of the territorial city limits of the foreign city to be visited, and the terrorist attack must occur after the effective date of your trip cancellation coverage. Please ensure the United States government has not issued a travel advisory indicating that Americans should not travel to a city named on the itinerary.

MH Ross
A terrorist attack is defined as an incident deemed an act of terrorism by the U.S. Government. If you purchased MH Ross travel insurance, you will receive Trip Interruption and Cancellation Coverage if a politically-motivated terrorist attack occurs within the territorial limits of the city listed on your itinerary within 30 days of the departure date and the United States government has not issued a travel advisory for a city named on the itinerary. The terrorist attack must also occur after the effective date of your trip cancellation coverage.

Tin Leg
Increasing conflict involving ISIS Militants in the Middle East has some travelers concerned over potential impacts to International and Domestic travel.

Currently, Tin Leg Economy, Standard, and Luxury policies offer Trip Cancellation and Trip Interruption coverage if a terrorist attack affects travel plans.

In order for an attack to be covered, it must meet the following requirements:

  • Occur after the policy is purchased
  • Be deemed an act of terrorism by the U.S. Department of State
  • Result in the complete cessation of travel services at the point of departure or destination for the below specified amounts of time:
    • Tin Leg Economy policy: 48 consecutive hours
    • Tin Leg Standard policy: 24 consecutive hours
    • Tin Leg Luxury policy: 12 consecutive hours
  • Occur within 7 days of your departure
  • Occur within 50 miles of a city listed on your itinerary

If an event occurs that meets the above definition of “terrorism”, Tin Leg policies may no longer offer coverage for any losses related to the attack on policies purchased on or after the date of the attack.

TravelSafe 
TravelSafe travel insurance policies provide coverage for travel interrupted or cancelled due to terrorist acts and do not exclude any cities for prior terrorist incidents. A terrorist act is defined as an incident deemed a terrorist act by the United States Government that causes property damage and loss of life. The incident must occur after the effective date of your trip cancellation coverage, in a city listed on your itinerary and within 30 days prior to your scheduled departure date.
